An even more dangerous climb here. Kam made it slowly but surely. What a tough gal she is.

The cells were very small, as you might expect for a prison. Evidently it they had no toilets for most of his tenure here. The had to go (number 1 and 2) in a bucket that they kept in their cell. Mandela was only allowed to leave the cell for a half hour per day.

There was even discrimination among the people that were held in prison at Robben Island. As if it wasn't bad enough that they were all discriminated against by everybody outside! Here is a menu showing what different black people got for food. The Bantas people were considered to be lessor than regular colored people.

Ah, that face again. They had goats at a wolf sanctuary on our drive up the Garden Route. This one was a little too exhurberant for Kam

Rabbits too at the wolf sanctuary. Maybe they just used all these guys for food? They were crazy and wouldn't leave us alone.

We hiked a bit of the Otter Trail from the south side. It was pretty and the terrain wasn't too bad.

We stopped at the world's highest bungee jump (708 ft) as we continued north. Fortunately, neither of us took the plunge.

We drove onto Storm's River is on the other side of the Otter Trail. This is one beautiful place. The waves were huge when we were there. It's very rocky, making hiking a little difficult, particularly when the rocks are all wet! It's possible to rent a cabin at this location. Believe us, if you ever get the chance, you should stay there a few days. It's soo nice!

Here's Kam showing off her excellent all-terrain hiking technique. The beginning of the trail on this side is very rocky and difficult. It's best to hike when there is no rain. Wait until the sun burns off the morning dew for sure!

We turned around at the water fall just 3 miles in. It felt like forever with all those wet rocks and all. Really a peaceful place.

A short flight from Port Elizabeth to Johannesberg took us to the Drakensberg Mountains. We did a lot of hiking for a few days. Here's the famous ampitheater where we spent 2 days. See, the rocks behind Todd look like an ampitheater.

Finally reaching Johannesberg, we stayed off in the relative boonies in one of these resort huts (used to be a backpacker's place it seemed). There was no one else there, really nice. You can see Kam sticking her head out of the hut on the left, the one we stayed in.
